As we are now into DSM-V (though many institutions and practitioners are still using DSM-IV TR at this point) I decided to purchase older versions of DSM for a possible lecture on how diagnostic concepts have changed over the decades. DSM-III-R was fine with most practitioners. This copy was in quite good condition and I plan on keeping it permanently in my library.
This book is a very interesting read. Cant do much with it in regards to using it for diagnosing due to it being outdated. I bought this item more as a collector. I bought the hard cover which is very different in color from the paper back version. The hard cover is more like a dark or navy blue. The paper back is more light blue. Still, I recieved a good copy and it will go up in my library of DSMs
Strictly a ref book for psycho-babble, but useful for that.
This is the DSM I used in grad school. it is a good source of info. The volume has a good spine, but the page edges are somewhat dotted with brown.
Dated, but it's a collector's item for me.
DSM V is suppose to be an upgrade to DSM IVR.. I suppose it is but I disagree with some of its conclusions
